The library at the Society is open to the public without charge. The staff can only provide minimum direction for those doing general research. The focus on the collection is on areas and sources best to document Mayflower ancestry. The strongest elements are Massachusetts town histories and vital records; Connecticut and Maine vital records; colonial Nova Scotia; and a Mayflower history collection. There is a photocopier that is self-service for 25 cents per page. The researcher may make copies of books and manuscripts at the sole discretion of the MSMD staff and with respect to the laws regarding the copyright of any material.
Holdings of the Library The library's book holdings have been inventoried and are kept current. Below are printable lists of our holdings by subject in pdf files. Please use these lists to help determine if our collections can be helpful to your research. These lists include many cross-references to aid researchers. Local Histories
