The Society was organized as an association during a meeting at the Hotel Vendome in Boston on 28 March 1896. It was immediately incorporated as the Society of Mayflower Descendants on 1 April 1896. The name was legally changed to the Massachusetts Society of Mayflower Descendants on 26 December 1924. For more about the history of the Society, please view our history page.
